At Crossroads, supporting an artist isn’t symbolic — it directly covers the real cost of bringing that artist to Nebraska and giving them the conditions to do their best work. Our $3,000 and $5,000 “Support an Artist” levels reflect what it typically takes to travel an artist here, house them, feed them, and pay them an amount that reflects the high-degree of preparation, skill and risk required by our crazy, boundary-challenging programs.
Complete participation: supports an artist’s full involvement in the festival, from performance through rehearsal and collaboration.
True cost: in most cases, $5,000 closely reflects the real expenses required to bring one artist to the festival, support their work, and present them professionally.
Creative contribution: enables the development of new work when needed, including commissioning, arranging, or adapting repertoire for the festival’s ensembles and forces.
A Full Artist Sponsorship covers all the expenses for an artist’s participation in the festival including fees, travel to and from Nebraska, accommodation during the festival week, and often a modest commissioning or arranging fee.
Listed as Full Sponsor on your chosen artists, biography page on our website, on their biography in the Program booklet and in any concert page where they are a featured artist.

Fair compensation: supports an artist’s professional fees during the festival, guided by a daily-rate approach with adjustments based on role and scope.
True-cost support: in most cases, $3,000 closely reflects a fair fee plus essential on-the-ground support for an artist participating across the full 8-day festival period.
Artist care: includes local transportation and meals—practical support that makes a major difference for artists working a demanding, rehearsal- and performance-heavy schedule.
A Basic Artist Sponsorship supports an artist’s fees for an 8-day stay at the festival, along with local transportation and meals; the most essential investment for the festival’s core work.
